Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut Vs. Catcher in the Rye
"Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut" Is a short story in a series of 9 stories written by J.D. Salinger. It is about 2 young colleagues that meat up after a decade or so. Eloise appears as an alcoholic, because she has multiple drinks during the story. She appears to be drunk, and overwhelmed. she is almost a reference to Holden, because he is a compulsive drinker, and is irresponsible. Sh e is very "loosey goosey" with her child. She lets her run around outside with no supervision. She is only around 6 years old. Eloise is also sort of like Holden's parent, not strict in any sense. Nearing the end of the story, she walks into Ramona's bedroom. and throw's Ramona towards the center of the bed, because her imaginary friend is dead. My thought's on Ramona's imaginary friend is that she uses it to cope with the fact that she seems to be a bit anti-social. She is one of the only kids in the area, in an extremely reserved area. She has multiple friends, that are imaginary that she relies on herself for comfort. Back to Eloise though, when she threw Ramona, she almost didn't have a reaction because it appears to be a reoccurring instance. all she did was silently cry a tear, and went to sleep.
